What You Focus on in Your Riding is What You Get in Your Riding! - Your Riding Success

“Happy Birthday to Me,

Happy Birthday to Me,

Happy Birthday dear Ta-ash,

Happy Birthday to me!”

Sorry – but it is my Birthday today! And yes, I am still in Africa – now in South Africa riding horses through the African bush. I can’t wait to share the photos and stories when I get back!!!

But enough about me, let’s talk about you!!!! What’s going on with you guys!?!?!?

Today, let’s think about the quote:

“What we give our attention to – stays with us. What we let go of – will let go of us” – Cat Forsley

This is the same as NLP’s “What you focus on is what you get.”

How many of you put attention to:

  • How worried you are about something
  • How angry you are about something
  • How fearful you are about something
  • How sad you are about something

… Can I just ask – as a strategy … does it help?

Does it make you feel:

Better … or worse?

Happier … or sadder?

Safe … or unsafe?

I’m guessing for some weird reason, it makes you feel worse, sadder and unsafe.

Bummer.

🙂

So looking at the quote what if we let go?

  • Let go of the worry
  • Let go of the anger
  • Let go of the fear
  • Let go of the sadness

… What would happen then?

Would you feel:

better … or worse?

Happier … or sadder?

Safe … or unsafe?

… Again I’m guessing for some weird reason it would make you feel better, happier and safer!

Cool.

🙂

And I know you probably knew that already … and what you are screaming at me is – but I don’t want to let go of the worry. I won’t let go of the anger and I’m too scared to let go of the fear.

Ok 🙂 … Then just take responsibility that you are choosing to feel worse, sadder ad unsafe because of your ‘choice’ to not let go.

Interesting 🙂

Something to think about…
