Where are you right now?
Three honest starting points. Pick the one that sounds most like you — each one begins with something free, so you can see how we teach before you spend anything.
“I’m scared on my horse”
Fearless Mastery
Four steps: find the root cause, change the movie with NLP, retrain the three body cues that tell your nervous system you’re safe, then anchor the confidence so it holds.
“I’ve been stuck at the same level for years”
Dressage Mastery Academy
A step-by-step progression from Preliminary to Grand Prix, taught as recipes you can run yourself — not a coach shouting aids in your ear.
“I want people in my corner”
The Riders Lounge
Ongoing coaching and a community of riders who get it. No judgement, no gatekeeping, no one telling you that you need a better horse.
Our method
Riding is two halves. Most coaching teaches one.
Half of riding is the horse. Half is you. Nearly every coach works only the horse side — then blames the horse, or blames you, when it stops working. We teach all eight pieces.
1 The horse half
Connection then collection — over the back, through, on the bit. Then add power until something breaks, and rebuild. That cycle runs from a green horse’s first ride all the way to Grand Prix.
2 The rider half
Your mind and your body. An independent seat that stays still whatever the horse does — and a head that’s in the present, not replaying three minutes ago or dreading what’s next.
Riding fear
You’ve sat in the car at the stables and not got out.
You found a reason. The weather wasn’t right, the arena was too busy, he seemed a bit fresh. And then came that quiet wave of relief when the lesson got cancelled.
If that’s you, there is nothing wrong with you. And your fear is not really about the horse.
01 First — is the fear logical?
If a horse has hurt people and you don’t yet have the skills, you should be frightened. That fear is doing its job perfectly. This is about the other kind: the good horse, the quiet horse, and a dread you can’t reason your way out of.
02 Your brain can’t tell real from imagined
Picture biting into a lemon and your mouth waters. There is no lemon. Now picture the fall — the way you have, hundreds of times, lying awake. Your brain files every rehearsal as something that happened to you. You’ve come off once. It has recorded a thousand.
03 What happened, and what you added
Your horse shook his head and went faster. That is the entire event. “He’s going to bolt, I’m going to get hurt” is the lens you brought to it — and the lens decides what you do next: grip, freeze, or quietly get off.
04 Your body keeps its own score
Hands grip, shoulders rise, breath goes shallow, and you tip forward into a jockey seat — off your seat bones, off your balance. Your horse feels every bit of it. So we rebuild the seat too. Natasha calls it putting your seatbelt on.
“It’s not about trusting the horse. It’s about trusting that you can handle it.”
Natasha Althoff
Fear is built from
Trusting other people to keep you safe + needing certainty that nothing will go wrong.
Confidence is built from
Trusting yourself + knowing that whatever happens, you can handle it.
Natasha broke a bone in her back when that stallion put her through a fence. She went back and rode him for three more years — and yes, he got her off again.
The fear went. The risk never does. Anyone promising otherwise is selling you something.

Hi, I’m Natasha
I was the rider with the wrong horse and the wrong everything.
Young rider squad. Everyone else on warmbloods, arriving in fancy floats. Me on a Friesian-cross-Thoroughbred, no float, no idea what I was doing, and one question on repeat: what’s wrong with me?
No coach wanted to help me get to Grand Prix, so I worked it out myself — then spent the next decade turning it into something teachable. That’s who I coach now: the rider everyone else wrote off.
- First person in Australasia to take a Friesian to Grand Prix
- Took a Friesian-cross-Thoroughbred to FEI level
- NLP Master Practitioner and qualified hypnotherapist
- Coaching riders online since 2012, from the Gold Coast, Australia

What actually changes
“
I’ve got my mojo back.
Tonight we finally got a true forward leg yield and a really good start on a correct shoulder fore. I felt so good after schooling — as if we’d just won gold. I can’t wait to ride again tomorrow.

Shelly Marie
“
It reframed how I see myself.
The Fearless Riding course let me reframe my mindset while riding — and even more so, my own self-image. I went from needing guidance to taking control and making decisions.

Matea Makek
“
I thought I’d have to retire him.
He kept falling out behind with a very sticky hock. Just learning the basics and getting him to use his body properly, he’s become so strong — and we can enjoy our rides in the woods again.
