Last weekend I had my first Grand Prix CDI.

I needed to get 58% in the Grand Prix to get into the Kur and the Special.

I wasn’t going for 58%, I was going for 62%!! 🙂

I got 57.2%

There are a myriad of reasons why I didn’t get the score, but it doesn’t really matter.

All that matters is I learned… I got a kick ass learning opportunity and that learning I will take with me FOREVER. You can’t buy those experiences, so even though I will say the experience wasn’t all fun and games and smiles… the experience itself I am extremely grateful for, and will use it for the rest of my life.

The way I see it is that everything happens for a reason, and I know missing out on the Kur in the long run makes me a better rider, trainer, competitor and person. It’s so true about pressure making diamonds, and you have to get broken to become something bigger and better!

It’s like the caterpillar morphing into a butterfly. I’m guessing that hurts! I’m guessing it kills! But the result is amazing… but you have to go through the pain to become the butterfly.

So to all of you that are perhaps going through your metamorphosis! Keep going and enjoy the process! Your butterfly moment is coming!!! 🙂
